Magnetic level indicators are mainly designed as an alternative to glass level indicators. Magnetic level indicators are commonly used in industries because it avoids direct contact with the indicator system: it eliminates the need for glass for direct level indications and prevents wastage caused by broken glass.
Prisma Instruments offers magnetic level indicators, with vertical mounting (horizontal, lateral) with two types of indicator system with pivoting shutters and two-color balls. The magnetic level indicator consists of a floating chamber, a float and an indicator system.
The magnetic level indicator works on the principle of coupling the magnetic field to provide information on the level of the liquid. The float chamber is constructed with non-magnetic pipes which have connections which correspond to the connections of the vessels. The size of the float is determined by the fluid, pressure, temperature and gravity of the fluid used. The float contains magnets to provide a magnetic field of 360 flux from 0.
Pivoting shutters
The indicator system consists of pivoting shutters placed in the glass tube in the housing.
When the level begins to rise or fall, the magnetic float also moves with the level liquid in the non-magnetic chamber.
