The magnetic level indicator has been designed as an alternative to the ice level indicator. It is commonly used in industry because it avoids direct contact with the measurement system. Its use eliminates the need for glass from direct level indicators.

Prisma Instruments offers magnetic level indicators with vertical, horizontal and lateral mounting with two types of indicator system: pivoting flaps, and two-color balls. The magnetic level indicator consists of a float chamber, a float and an indicator system.

The magnetic level indicator works on the principle of coupling magnetic fields to provide information on the level of the fluid. The float chamber is made with non-magnetic tubes whose connections are similar to those of a vessel. The size of the float is determined by the fluid, pressure, temperature and gravity of the fluid used. The float contains magnets to provide a magnetic field of 360 flux from 0.

Flapper

The indicator system consists of multi-colored balls fitted with magnets mounted on rails in a housing. When the level begins to rise or fall, the magnetic float also moves with the level of the liquid in the non-magnetic chamber. This magnetic interaction between the magnets in the float and the multi-colored balls causes the balls to rotate from 0 to 180.
